Free Advanced Concussion Baseline Testing

A nationally recognized concussion treatment and research center in Provo, UT has implemented a new community outreach program targeted at student athletes.  Cognitive FX is offeringno-cost concussion baseline testing. We are using a thoroughtesting protocol than any other concussion baseline testing protocol. The baseline testing is done prior to any concussive trauma then used in diagnosing concussions and assisting with the return to play decision as required by Utah House Bill 204.

The baseline test lasts between 15-20 minutes.  The test provides athletes and parents with information that will help with the diagnosis and treatment of a concussion.

The testing allows clinicians to more accurately diagnose the seriousness of an individual’s mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI).  Cognitive FX has been the treatment clinic of Austin Collie, former BYU and NFL football player, and other professional and Olympic athletes.  Recognized as one of the leading concussion rehabilitation clinics, Cognitive FX treats patients across the nation (New York, Florida, California, Texas, Utah) seeking cutting edge concussion treatment.

After a suspected mTBI the athlete can schedule a return to play diagnostic consult.  “With the aid of the baseline testing our team of in-house specialists can provide the athlete with a clean return to play opinion or appropriate treatment options,” says neuroscientist Mark Allen, PhD.

“Cognitive FX is the only concussion clinic in the nation with an in-house MRI machine that utilizes fNCI technology.  We take a team-based, multidisciplinary approach to treatment.  Our treatment specialists’ expertise include neuropsychology, neurosurgery, neuroradiology, cognitive therapy, speech pathology, occupational therapy, athletic training, neuromuscular therapy and ophthalmology, and all under one roof," said Allen.
