Accelerated TMS for depression that hasn't lifted after two or more antidepressants. We aim every session using a scan of your own brain, and the full course takes one week at our clinic in Provo. Patients come from Salt Lake City, Utah County, Park City and out of state.

Your week
What does the treatment week look like?
Patients from Utah County and Salt Lake County usually drive in each day. Patients from farther away often stay in Provo for the week.
- Friday
Your fMRI scan
A resting-state fMRI on our own MRI, here in the clinic. No outside imaging center to schedule.
- Weekend
Your target is mapped
Our team picks your treatment spot from your scan. You rest at home.
- Monday to Thursday
About 10 sessions a day
Short theta-burst sessions of about 10 minutes, roughly 7 AM to 5 PM, with CBT, physical therapy, massage and light therapy planned between them.
- Friday
Final sessions and your plan
Your last sessions, then a follow-up plan. You leave with a targeting report you can share with your psychiatrist.
Exact times vary a little. Your care team sends your schedule before you start.

How much does TMS cost at Cognitive FX?
One all-inclusive fee for the 5-day program

- A deposit holds your dates. The balance is due when you arrive.

Where do our Utah patients come from?

- In the Riverwoods Medical and Professional Center on the west side of Provo, with free parking.
- From I-15, take exit 269 for University Avenue, head south briefly, then turn right on River Park Drive.
- Flying in? Provo Airport (PVU) is 15 minutes away and Salt Lake City (SLC) about 45 minutes.
- Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County
- About 45 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City on I-15. Patients come from Sandy, Draper, South Jordan, West Jordan, Murray and the rest of the valley, and most drive down each day.
- Provo and Utah County
- The clinic is in Provo, 10 to 35 minutes from Orem, Lehi, American Fork, Pleasant Grove, Spanish Fork, Springville, Payson, Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain.
- Park City and Heber Valley
- About 50 minutes from Park City. From Heber City, about 40 minutes via US-189 through Provo Canyon, and from Kamas about 55 minutes. Canyon roads are maintained in winter, but leave extra time during snowstorms. Many Summit County patients stay in Provo for the week instead of commuting.
- Out of state
- Many of our patients fly in. Plan on arriving Friday for your scan and leaving the next Friday evening or Saturday. Several nearby hotels offer our patients discounted rates, and our team sends you the list.

What does TMS treat at Cognitive FX?
- Treatment-resistant depression. Depression that hasn't improved after two or more antidepressants. This is who the program is built for.
- Major depressive disorder. TMS is FDA-cleared to treat depression in adults, alongside therapy and medication.
- Depression with anxiety. Many people have both. Using TMS for anxiety itself is off-label, and we can't promise changes in anxiety.
- Teens 14 to 17. With a parent or guardian involved all week. Treating anyone under 18 is off-label, and your clinician will explain what that means.
