What to Expect During Treatment
Your treatment week at our Provo clinic is designed to be convenient for Utah County residents:
Day 1 (Monday): Your week starts with an fMRI brain scan at our on-site imaging center. This scan identifies the exact brain regions involved in your depression or anxiety. We'll then begin your first TMS sessions in the afternoon.
Days 2-4: You'll receive approximately 10 TMS sessions each day, with breaks between them. Each session is about 10 minutes long. Most Utah County patients find it easy to commute daily from home, though some prefer to stay nearby for the week.
Day 5 (Friday): You'll complete your final sessions and meet with our team to discuss your progress and create a plan for maintaining your results.
Many patients notice improvement by mid-week, much faster than the weeks of waiting typical with standard TMS protocols.
Conditions We Treat
Our fMRI-guided TMS therapy helps Utah County residents with:
- Treatment-Resistant Depression: When antidepressants haven't worked well enough, TMS offers a completely different approach.
- Major Depressive Disorder: TMS is FDA-approved for depression and works well as a primary treatment or alongside therapy.
- Anxiety Disorders: Our imaging allows us to precisely target anxiety-related brain circuits.
- Combined Depression and Anxiety: Many patients experience both conditions, and our approach addresses overlapping symptoms.

Insurance and Payment Options
Our advanced fMRI-guided TMS protocol is a self-pay treatment. However, if insurance coverage is a priority for you, our sister clinic Neural Effects offers standard rTMS treatment that is covered by many insurance plans. While standard TMS requires a longer treatment course and has different outcomes than our accelerated protocol, it may be a good option depending on your situation.
During your consultation, we can discuss both options and help you determine which approach is the best fit for your needs and circumstances.
